These are larger than the power shovels.  They are better for those with long driveways and other large areas that need to be cleared of snow. 

They have more powerful motors that can throw up to 700 pounds of snow per minute (depending on the model you get).  A snow thrower can easily handle 8-10 inches of snow. 

These snow throwers typically have wheels.  They also have a chute that you can move so that you can direct which way the snow shoots as you use it.
